Who Are the Global Ambassadors?

Global Ambassadors are student-leaders who are currently abroad or who have returned from study abroad. They work with students who are interested in going abroad and represent a diverse set of academic programs and study abroad experiences in order to reflect the various types of semester and yearlong international opportunities. Throughout the school year, global ambassadors aid with many events put on by the Center for Global Education including the Study Abroad Fair, Table Talks (virtual and around campus), Pre-Departure Orientation and more. They are a great resource for prospective study abroad students who may have inquiries.

Kiernan Davis | Czech Republic | Marketing/Writing | Provider: CEA | Email: kdavis7@friars.providence.edu

My name is Kiernan Davis, I am from Vail Valley area, Colorado and I am a Marketing major with a minor in Writing. The activities I am usually involved in PC are intramural basketball, spike ball and football,  American Marketing Association member, and Entrepreneurship Society member. This Fall 2021, I will be studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. I chose Prague because from all my initial research, it sounded unique. A ton of their architecture has been preserved through history, and it has even been deemed “the city of a thousand spires”. This combined with the affordability, made it an easy choice for me. I am scheduled to work an internship for Manifesto Market, a hospitality group that focuses on innovative strategies in the food and beverage industry. I am excited to completely assimilate into the Prague culture. I look forward to trying all their foods, meeting the locals, and getting a feel for what it’s like to live in a place that’s foreign in every way to me. Meeting the other kids from different schools that will also be in my program will also be fun. I am also very interested in my classes I am taking which include but are not limited to “Intro to Film Studies” and “Czech Food and Brewing”.

Hi, my name is Daniela Priore, I will be a junior this coming year at Providence College. I am studying health policy and management with soon to pursue a minor in psychology and on the premed track. While I am on campus, I try to stay active and engaged, besides for being in my dorm, you can find me running on campus, in the gym, sitting outside with my friends or participating in clubs such as PAWs, Healthcare club and the public health club. This coming fall I have decided to study in Geneva, Switzerland. This wasn’t an easy decision to make when it came to deciding on where I would spend my semester, but I know I made the right decision. I chose Geneva, Switzerland not only for its beauty but for the healthcare. Being that I am a health policy and management, I felt that the best place to study healthcare was the place that is number one in the world for healthcare and that being Switzerland. Along with that I chose Geneva, Switzerland because it is right in the middle of Europe and would make traveling around Europe a little easier. While I am away for the semester, I will not only be studying but I will take part in an internship. The first six weeks I will be taking two classes and my last six weeks I will take part in an internship. One thing that I am the most excited for while I am abroad is getting out of my comfort zone, for me studying abroad was a big step to take. I am a huge homebody and find being even four hours away from home a struggle. Taking this big step to be a whole other continent away is a monumental time in my life and I know it will change me for the better.
